Fire flickered in the air as Rowan stabbed the embers with a pointed stick. His eyes were narrowed as he sat in a rapt contemplation of when to report to Jendari about the recent raidings of the camp. He sighed and placed down the stick standing up and placing his spear in his right hand. Rowan sped through the forest, leaping from tree to tree cold wind nipping at his heels. He splashed through the cold water of the river until he reached the edge of the camp.
The camp seemed vacant but he could strongly sense the presence of other anthro. "Jendari?" he called.

There was nothing but silence for a minute, the wind sweeping through the kicking up clouds of dust. Suddenly, a light flashed on in the leader's tent. Jendari stepped out, a crooked smile on his face. Keeping a claw on the tent flap, he answered, "Yes Rowan, I am here. Now, what of the raid."

"Well Jendari....everyone has been killed. I am the only survivor. They took our young and all our supplies. We HAVE to rebuild if the War Lust is to survive....I'm sorry." he rumbled, bowing on one knee before standing up to look into his Leader's eyes. "What will we do now?" he asked.

Jendari's face went hard and cold. His crooked smile flashed away, changing his face into a knot of rage. He brought his claws down to his sides with great force, tearing the tent flap and balling his hands into fists. "WHAT?!" he roared. "How could this have happened! WHY! No! HOW did this happen!"

"The camp was left unguarded by Tideasta, the mountain lion who was put in charge. They broke our wall because he hadn't repaired it and easily took us by surprise. We- we weren't prepared." Rowan rumbled, flattening his ears on his skull.

Jendari gritted his teeth together so hard, it sounded as if they were going to break. His harsh stare never left Rowan as he growled, "Then let that be a lesson to everyone in my pride. Never do your job halfway." Still growling, Jendari turned back inside his tent. When he appeared again, his giant sword was on his back. "Gather our remaining warriors. We are going to find more recruits. And if ANYTHING like this EVER happens again, I will hold the traitor responsable for everything. That is, if they haven't died before I get to them...."

Rowan nodded. "I'll take the path until I reach the North river. Maybe some of our Clan fled and scattered. I'll search and we'll meet at Noon at the Castle Rock" he rumbled and picked up his spear, adjusting it in his hand. He sped off towards the North of camp, slowing down now and then so he could try to find a familiar scent.

Jendari nodded sharply, his teeth still bared and sped off toward Devil's Canyon. The pumas and snakes there were normally not friendly, but Jendari could be very persuasive....

Rowan felt an uneasy feeling about Jendari's heading. He would be traveling right into Sabor's turf and that could only mean trouble. He continued with his search, sniffing vigorously around trees and boulders.
Sabor leapt from rock to rock, his Clan following swiftly and silently behind him. Small ships of rock fell from the mountain's face to its feet and cold air ripped through their fur. He slowly lead them down to the bottom and they landed in a soft, gentle meadow. The moon cast a silver aura of light upon the gently rippling field of grass. Sabor slowly leapt upon the rock, rubbing his fur against any landmark in the meadow, the make the territorial scent. A snake slid out from the rock,it's large arms carrying a longbow. "Sssaborrr." it hissed, opening it's large mouth and exposing large fangs. Sabor narrowed his eyes. "Takashi, shouldn't you be on your own territory." he growled. Takashi flicked out his forked tongue. "We had an agreeement. Assss long as we don't damage your territory, we're allowed to roam...." he hissed again. Sabor nodded. "Carry on then...." she rumbled and sped off towards the trees.

Jendari slashed through the trees with his mighty sword, cutting anything in his path. It was getting lighter and lighter as he rased on, nearing the meadow. Once he reached the meadow, a few miles east was the canyon. All he had to do was avoid the mountians as much as possible. With them more towards the west, there was still a good chance Sabor might see him, but he didn't care. The canyon was a straight shot west once he was out of the trees. Speeding faster and faster he reached the meadow in reacord time. There seemed to be nothing out there, but then again, the grass was really tall and the wind blowing made everything move already. Jendari stopped for a moment to scent the wind. "Sabor...." he hissed under his breath.

Sabor slid up behind the large white lion, crossing his arms. He narrowed his eyes. "Jendari...Being Leader of your own Clan I think you would have memorized and respected the borders by now." he said coolly and somewhat gently, almost like an elder. "What are you doing here?" he said a bit more threatening, moving in front of the lion, his Clan close behind him.

Jendari rolled his eyes. "Always like you Sabor. Trying to be the hero. But why I'm here does not concern you. I'm simply passing through to Devil's Canyon. Surely you have not forgotten that you do not own it and that I may pass as long as I do no harn to your land." he replied cooly. And perhaps just to agitate Sabor, he mimicked the tiger's stance, smiling crookedly.

"Then you wouldn't mind if I escorted you, just to play it safe." he said with a mocking flash of his long fangs. He knew Jendari would respect the border, but it was always fun just to see him fume.

Jendari decided to play along. As long as Sabor knew and suspected nothing, Jendari could get more members for his pride without Sabor attacking him because he had no back-up. "What you don't trust me?" he mocked, making his eyes go wide with fake innocence.

Sabor chuckled. "Simply because I have a Clan to protect and you have a Clan to protect and we both know we are equal in size and fighting skill. And we are both a threat to each other's Clans." he growled.
