Jendari let out a small bark of laughter, then stopped and cleared his throat. "No, no. Nothing of the sort, Talon. It just kills me that your warriors almost never get to see battle. Your talents in battle are wasted if they are not honed and used as often as possible. That is why I am here. I have a proposition for you and your warriors." he said, eyeing the growling pumas around him. He flicked his tail at Rowan, telling him to put away his spear.

Rowan's eyes were still narrowed, but he put it away, letting a growl escape his lips. He didn't like Talon...never did.

Suspicion clouded Talon's eyes, and she raised the spear slightly higer, not so sure what to thing of these two great lions. "What. . . Kind of propisition, Jerandi? I'm curious to know." Glaring at Rowan our of the corner of her eye, she continued in a low growl."I know we never seem to get a chance to show our skills, but do not take us for weak. In that absence of battle, we have had time to nearly perfect our skills."

Jendari bowed his head slightly in respect. "I would never take you or any of you warriors for weak, Talon. And that is exactly why I am here," he grinned, his frighteningly sharp teeth showing. "I ask you, Talon, great leader of these feared puma warriors, to join my pride." He looked up from his slight bow, eyeing the rest of the pumas around him. Thier expressions only slightly changed. They looked up at their leader, waiting patiently for an answer. Jendari returned his attention to Talon on the ledge, hoping she would suddenly decide to attack. He hated wasting good warriors...

Talon struck out a long paw across a nearby warrior's chest, holding him back from a short jump to Jendari. "Wait," She hissed slowly. All it would take was a flick of the tail, a slight movement and her warriors would overwhelm the two great lions. She seemed deep in thought, considering all options. Finally, she lept back up to the high craggy ledge. "Tel me, Jendari, why my dangerous pack of pumas should join your small band. Let me remind you that it is /you/ who is the midst of a vicious pack. Yet you insult my intelligence and ask /me/ to join /you?/"

Jendari raised an eyebrow. "Insult you?" he almost laughed. "Talon, I have absolutely no intention to insult you, and if you took what I said earlier as an insult, I am dearly sorry, for I did not mean it in that way. The choice to join me is yours and I wouldn't dream of forcing you to do anything. I've simply watched you and your warriors in battle before and the fact that they almost never get to sink their claws into an enemy's skin just kills me. You deserve to have more fun than you do and I am here simply to offer you a way to have fun more often. If you join me, I can offer you plentiful meals, luxurious living spaces, and the freedom to sink your teeth into an enemy as often as you desire." He made a deeper bow this time and motioned for Rowan to do the same. "I come with the utmost respect for you and your warriors and I do not wish to insult you. Please take no offense to my words."

Rowan let a low rumble gurgle inside his throat, but he bowed on one knee and lowered his head. I feel like a piece of dirt... he though angrily. I need to talk to Nile...maybe I can convince him to join the rebellion.... he thought, his paws itching to run to the Basalisk leader.

"Jendari..." Talon softly purred. Her tone quickly changed though, as she lept back up on the ledge, and motioned for her snarling warriors to tone it down a little bit. A flick of the tail, and the spears were lowered... But not all the way. She still didn't exactly trust them yet... "To simply put it, you've backed me into a corner with only one way out. Your way." With a slight smirk and hint of hostility, she continued. "But fun, real fun... Is something to consider." Nodds of approvement showed around her, because no one wanted to openly defy her."My claws... Itch for the triumphs of battle. My teeth... Beg me to finally be used. I am positive that many of my warriors feel the same way. However," She snarled. "This would mean that I and my faithful warriors would have to leave this precvios canyon that we call our home. This idea of joining forces, though strikes me in a good way." A deep breath heaved out of her. 'So i, Talon, accept your offer." Roars and snarls erupted as the pack raised its spears to celebrate.

Jendari didn't speak for a moment. He simply took in a sharp breath and stared at the puma leader. A bellow of laughter errupted from the great white lion and he looked once again at Talon. "Excellent!" he roared with laughter. "If you and your warriors are ready, I suggest we leave now. But if you have things which you must take with you, you may have all the time you need to gather them," he roared, still laughing a bit.

Rowan roared triumphantly and let the sound echo through the canyons. "Jendari," he turned and whispered. "What about Nile?" he asked, lowering his voice.

Jendari thought for a moment, his eyes glittering with delight. "Nile may be a bit harder to convince. He's sly and cunning and I'm not sure I trust him completely," he said, crossing his arms over his chest. "Oh well," he shrugged, eyeing Talon again, "it wouldn't hurt to have him on our side."

Rowan nodded. "It would be to our advantage" he said to Talon who was gazing at him with a cold ferocity.

Jendari nodded, satisfied with having Talon on his side. But it wasn't enough. If he could get Nile and the foxes and snakes in the desert, he would have a pride big enough to take on anyone. He flicked his tail at Rowan. "Go and talk to Nile. I'll meet up with you as soon as I can," he hissed, making sure Talon's ears never caught their conversation. He straightened up again and his voice echoed through the canyon and he shouted, "Talon! Are you and your warriors ready to travel?"

Rowan bolted away from the group and scaled the mountainside with ease, carfully picking his way around the rocks so he wouldn't be caught by Sabor. He slid down the snowy banks and paused at the meadow tree. He took in a deep breath, a strong scent of death and venom laying by the scattered boulders. 'He's here...' he thought.

"Of course we are ready, Jerandi! What do you take us for? Unprepared fools?" Talon hissed savagely. Just because they had teamed up didn't necessarily mean she had to like either one of the massive lions. But she would do nearly anything to protect her loyal warriors flanking her. Snarls of agreement rippled through the crowd. "Living in the canyons has taught us more than you think, lion."
