Jendari only smiled. "Then let us go!" he roared, leaping up the walls of the canyon. He stopped for a moment when he was near the top and turned. "We're taking a slight detour back to the camp," he called. "We may pick up a few frineds along the way." He flashed his twisted smile once more and turned to finish exiting the canyon.

Rowan looked into the small den, a musty scent of stale fungus hitting his nose. Suddenly fangs flashed from the darkness and almost bit his muzzle. Rowan leapt back and lashed out his spear but Nile was quicker and slid around him, slithering up his body and constricted. Rowan grabbed Nile's neck and roared.

"Friends?" Talon hissed softly under her breath, scanning the area. There was still something that made her uneasy about that great white lion... Just to be prepared, she drew her large spear from the sling on her back, ready for the slightest thing. Her warriors drew theirs all in one fluid motion, all scanning the grounds suspiciously. Her ears flickered back and forth, listening to the sounds of the land. A roar ripped through the air from nearby. Before switching to attack mode, she sniffed the air suspiciously. The vile smell of a large snake cut through the air. When Jerandi had said friends, this is not what she had thought of. Hopefully these weren't the friends they were talking about, or camp could get very interesting. Talon was sure of one thing: She was not going to have an alliance with them. She looked around for the white lion to see what he was going to do, a snarl on her face.

Aria caught the scent of Jendari, and began running as fast as she could but not to fast that her cub Leo could not keep up with her. She jumped over a couple bolders and the scent grew closer. She could taste it, it was so close. When she spotted him she ran up, and rubbed her head against his. "We have been so lost, I have been so worryed Leo would not get much to eat we have been looking everywhere." She said , (she had gotten lost from them.)
Leo went up and jumped on Rowan tackling him, and laughed.

((Rowan isn't there...))
Jendari took a step back, dodging Leo's attempt to tackle him, and the cub fell to the ground. Picking him up, Jendari smiled before handing him back to his mother. "It's been a while Aria. Where did the rest of your patrol go?" He kept his voice calm and smooth, so as not to alarm Talon to anything. His ears flicked back and forth, trying to catch where Rowan's roar had come from. Sounds like Nile found him.

Aria frowned. "I-I am not to sure." She explained. "Leo got lost we were moving to fast for the little cub, so I had to go back to see if I could find him, you see. I could not , so I looked more, and more till I happen to finally stumble upon him. I carried him back to see if I could find the rest of the patrol, but they were gone." She looked up to him.

Rowan slashed viciously at the cobra, its body twisted around him. "Die cat!!!!" Nile hissed parting his jaws and snapping viciously. Rowan grasped his neck again. "Jendari!!!!" Rowan roared in an echo.

Jendari's ears pricked immediately at the roar. He dropped Leo and raced off toward Nile's den. Sure enough, Nile was wrapped around Rowan and his fangs were bared. Launching himself at the snake, he grasped right behind Nile's head and tore him off Rowan. Landing, he tossed the snake a few feet away and backed up to where Rowan was, his eyes not leaving the cunning creature. "Rowan, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, he didn't bite me...which is good I guess..."he snarled, picking up the spear he had dropped. Nile slithered back up into an upright position. "Get out!!" he snapped, flicking his fangs, "Now!!" he hissed.

Jendari loosened his stance and stood upright, though he drew his blade. "Nile will not be part of the pride," he hissed to Rowan. "Go back into your den and we will," he growled at the basalisk, who seemed to be eyeing the shining blade in his hand.

Talon's golden brown ears flickered back and forth as she delicately sniffed the air and caught the scent of two more lions. She looked over her perch on the sun-warmed rocks native to the terrain, and spotted the two smaller ones with her keen eyes. There was definitely a similarity between the two of them; they must be related. On the other side of the boulder, a few of her warriors remained that had not gone ahead. Should she go ahead? Or wait things out?

"B-but Jendari, Nile is one of the most powerful Leaders in this land, it'd be stupid not to get him to join us...even if he isn't very welcoming." Rowan rumbled. Nile slitted his eyes and stretched his fangs in an irritable hiss.

"I don't care how powerful he is," Jendari hissed. "Power doesn't matter. You saw the way he attacked you. Didn't even ask what you wanted. If we can't trust him, I don't want him near the camp. We can try to make him an ally, but nothing more...." His gaze flicked from Rowan to Nile, preparing for any assult the basalisk might attempt.

"Good," hissed Nile, "Now leave here!" he snapped, sliding lithely beneath the rock once more. Rowan's ears flicked impatiently, his main bristled in the back. "How could you just let him go like that!?" he snapped suddenly.

Jendari whipped around and growled. "Becuase I don't want an assasin living in my camp!" he shot back, keeping his teeth bared. "Nile is powerful and would make a good addition to the pride, but if I can't trust him then I'm not taking the risk. He could kill plenty of warriors in one night and could cover up and we may never know. Our pride is smaller than I want it to be as it is. I will not put it in danger of getting even smaller simply because of one creature whom I sould never have trusted in the first place." He slung his sword onto his back again and turned around, walking back to Talon and the others.
