Jaguar stepped into the camp to find a hostile stare from a large tom across the clearing. The kit that followed Echostar was trembling, her eyes flicking back and forth wildly. He sat across from Echostar, holding her steady gaze.
Crow slipped through the barbs of protection that sheltered the opening to the camp. Grey and black twisted trees bent over the camp, dark green pine trees towering over their backs. She lowered her ears and quickened her pace until she was right next to Jaguar.

Echostar's expression was cold. "Follow me," she meowed, getting up. She padded over to a den that was covered in twisted thorns and made or roots from a nearby tree. She stepped inside and sat down near Monarchwing. She prodded the she-cat gently with her paw. "Monarchwing," she whispered. "Someone's here to see you and Grimjaw."
Dawnflight scanned the camp, taking in as much as she could. It was very dim, with only a small shaft of light shining into the middle of the clearing through a small break in the leaves of the trees above. All the dens were made out of twisted roots of nearby trees and covered in thorns, brambles, and mud. Dawnflight padded slowly to the den where Echostar had disappeared. A faint smell of old herbs and berry came from it as she came closer. Once inside, a strong smell of blood blasted past her nose and she cringed for a moment. What's with all the blood? Maybe Echostar was telling the truth.... Her eyes adjusted after a few moments and she padded further into the den. Two badly beaten cats lay sprawled on the ground, coated in blood. Dawnflight couldn't believe what she saw. She had never seen any injuries as bad as this! Sympathy for the cats crawled all over her and she fought back the need to go comfort them.

Crow's jaw dropped as she looked at the battered cats that lay sprawled out in front of her. Great StarClan..... she thought, her eyes wide. Are they even alive? she thought, placing her herbs in the large den. She saw the cream cat's ribcage rise and fall very slowly and the tom's paw twitched. They're alive...but just barely she thought, pressing her nose into both of their fur. "I don't need your presence anymore," she whispered to the other cats, who were still gawking at the bloodied mess that spattered the den. The rank of blood made her stomach lurch, and the fur on her spine raised in a ripple. She grabbed Dawnflight before she left. "Ask Echostar where the best supply of horsetail is..." she whispered, "I'm going to need more than I thought...." she murmured sadly. She placed her nose on the tom's pawpad and her head recoiled back with a hiss. The heat of his paw made her nose get hot and she licked her paw, drawing it over her rough nose. High fevers.... she thought, her eyes still wide.

Dawnlfight nodded at the cat's orders. She padded out of the den after the rest of the cats and caught up to Echostar, who was talking to Jaguar. "Echostar, where's the best supply of horsetail at? Crow needs a lot of it," she meowed, fear and concern rising in her voice.
Echostar turned away from her conversation and paid attention to Dawnflight, who was at her side. "I think a lot of it is by the Twisted Rock. That's by the Murk Stream which is a few paces north of the tunnel," she meowed calmly. "Nightfrost will go with you." "Nightfrost!" she hissed, her head turned toward waht seemed to be the warriors' den.

Crow grabbed some feverfew in her jaws and chewed them thoroughly. She spat them onto a leaf and dabbed her paw in the slimy juices. Gently she nuzzled Grimjaw. "Wake up....hey, wake up. I'm here to help you. Come on please, open your eyes..." she whispered gently while rubbing her tail along his flank.
Monarchwing slid her eyes open to find a black cat murmuring gentle words to Grimjaw, who was laying on his side breathing heavily.

"Yes, Echostar?" Nightfrost calmly mewed in a carefree way as he stretched towards the bright sun. Shaking of some dew that clung to his dark pelt, he lept over to the waiting leader. He struggled to keep his face straigt as the overwheming stench of Dawnclan flooded through his flared nostrils. It kept all of his control not to make the small his that escaped his throat into a battle cry. What was Echostar thinking? Then, he remembered all of the previous events, and in his mind's eye pictured his suffering clanmates. Thank Starclan that they had all lived thorugh the experience.
Hazelkit was already at Grimjaw's bloodied sides, her white paw stained from softly prooding him back into conciousness.

Crow looked down to a see a little kit helping her with waking of the tom. "Young one, can you please fetch me my bundle of herbs?" she asked the small kit, flicking her tail to the tightly wrapped leaf full of sweet smelling herbs.

A wordless shock went throught the small kit. Her eyes lit up, and with a slight hesitation, and after looking over her shoulder into the kind eyes of the medicine cat, she delicately picked up the stack in her jaws and deposited them at her feet.

"Thank you. Would you like to help me? If so, would you open his jaws for me? I need to put this poultice down his throat to stop his fever..." she purred kindly, her eyes shining with compassion.

Hazelkit's head bobbed vigorously as she lept to the side of Crow. "Y-Yes.." She managed to squeak out in a small, nearly terrified yet eager and curoius way. With a deep sniff of her her pink nose, she inhaled the scent of a variety of herbs. "Which one?" She mewed, curiosity getting the better of her. "And are you sure you want a kit to help you? What about on of the Warriors.." she babbled on, now speaking too fast.

"All I need you to do is open his mouth..." she soothed. She dabbed her paw in the feverfew poultice and held her paw in the air to keep from tainting it.

Grimjaw's eyes rolled back into his head as he woke up, his breathing breaking from its normal rhythm. He let out a small groan as he felt soft prodding on his flank and a little on his ribs. A hiss escaped as he tried to move to see who had disturbed him from his rest. Now breathing heavily, he managed to get out, "Stop poking me! I'm trying to sleep here!"
"Nightfrost, go get lots of horsetail for Crow. She needs it," she ordered, though her tone was soft but harsh at the same time. "Dawnflight, will you be going as well? Or are you staying here?"
Dawnflight shook her head. "I'll go with Nightfrost. Jaguar. Will you be ok here?" she inquired. She was a little afraid to leave him and Crow here alone, but it seemed the only other warrior was Nightfrost. If he attacked, she could get away alive. But Crow would never make it if Jaguar wasn't here to help her.

"And I'm trying to heal you..." a hiss came from Crow, only her bright gold eyes visible. Her black fur was unseen by the dim light. "Now hold still and swallow this...." she ordered.

Grimjaw only growled. "I'm fine. Leave me alone," he grumbled, closing his eyes again. He tried to go back to sleep, but the pain was too much. It kept him from falling asleep and he wanted to yowl his head off until the pain went away. He turned his head slightly for a moment and caught a glimpse of Monarchwing. She was breathing, but she wasn't moving. "Is she alright?" he rasped.

"She's breathing, but you're worse. Eat this now!" she commanded with a harsh growl. If he wouldn't be patient, she'd give him more pain than he already was in.
