"No! no, not at all, but I had a dream...well...sort of, maybe a prophecy." he sat down and licked his bristling shoulder. He raised his head and explained about the blue and white cat, his sister, and explained about her, the big ginger and white tom and the black she-cat with the herbs. "I think, I think it was showing me the Leader and the Medicine cat...." he meowed, his eyes wide.

Dawnflight was quiet for a few minutes. Her head was down and she was staring at the floor. A deep sigh came before her answer. "StarClan has given us a sign." she whispered. Looking up, she held Eaglefeather's gaze as she spoke, "Leafshadow and I will first go hunting. After the fresh kill pile is well stocked, you and I will go looking for this black she-cat who is our new medicing cat. Leafshadow will stay here and take care of Dreamweaver while we search." she meowed. "Go keep watch over Dreamweaver while Leafshadow and I hunt." Dawnflight got up and padded past Eaglefeather, heading to Leafshadow. The two she-cats disappeared into the tunnel.

Eaglefeather rushed out of Dawnflight's den and ran into the make-shift medicine cat's den. Dreamweaver was laying on her side, her eyes still bleeding heavily and her breathing was heavier than he had ever seen. How much time did she have left. He crouched over her and sniffed the wound. His head lashed back with disgust. Her wound was crusted and smelled like rust. A fly buzzed around it and was slowly eating away the crust. "Dreamweaver?" he said softly prodding her in the flank with his nose.

Dreamweaver coughed and tried to sit up. "Y-yes Eaglefeather?" was all she managed to get out before she collapsed again. Her breathing worsened for a minute or two but settled back down to what it was before. She gritted her teeth again, trying once again to reduce the pain.

"Don't get up!" he screeched, his muscles stiffening. He leaned over her, killed the fly asnd licked the blood off of her clouded eye. The lens was cracked in the corner and he looked around the cave. "Dawnflight's gone hunting and is keeping an eye out for any cat who has some knowledge of herbs." he mewed. laying down in a corner that was near to her.

"Oh," Dreamweaver coughed. Her eye was killing her, but she tried not to complain. "Only my eye is hurt," she meowed. "I should be well enough to go out and do something useful for the clan." Trying again, she managed to stand, but she wasn't very sturdy.

Eaglefeather bristled and blocked the enterance. "Lay...down....now." he hissed. "Only animals will smell your weakness and will smell the blood. I can't let that happen to you, Dawnflight would be devastated. Rest, moving won't help your eye get any better." he said strictly.

"But it's only my eye," she argued back. "If I go wash it out, I'll be fine." She tried to get past, but Eaglefeather was blocking her. "Please, Eaglefeather. I feel so useless just sitting here like a helpless kit." she meowed weakly. Dreamweaver coughed again, her whole body shaking.

Eaglefeather shook his head "There's water in the back of the den. Wash the rest of your eyes out, but you're too weak to do anything right now. Besides, Dawnflight and Leafshadow are hunting right now, there's nothing else to do. Maybe, we could go for a little walk, so you can stretch your legs, but we have to do it before they get back but no hunting at all." he meowed. He sta down at the enterance and waited for her.

Dreamweaver let out a low growl and padded to the back of the den. She just managed to make it without falling again. Getting her paws wet, she dabbed and wiped the crusted blood off her eye. When she felt more relieved, she padded to the front of the den again. "Can we go now," she meowed, her voice weak.

"Yes, but I want you to lean on me if you feel weak at all...I'll take you back to camp if you end up hurting too much." he meowed, sliding out of the den and waiting for the she-cat. He made his way to the enterance. Dawnflight please....Hurry! he meowed to himself.

"Ok, fair enough," Dreamweaver meowed, almost disappointed. She hated being treated like an elder, but Eaglefeather was right. There was no need to hurt herslef even more. "Let's go now. I'm tired of sleeping." she coughed. Her eye was producing new blood, but at least it wasn't crusted on her anymore. Leaning lightly on Eaglefeather, the two cats headed out the tunnel enterence of the camp.

"Can you see out of your eye?" he asked as they passed under the tunnel. "We'll find that rogue...and when we do, he'll never set paw back into the forest again..."he meowed grimly. The bird chirped madly above and they all flocked in one area. 'Storm's coming....' he thought sadly. He'd would have to go on a patrol in the rain.

"No. Not at the moment." she confessed. "And don't worry about the rouge. If he hasn't run off by now, forget him. It was my fault what happened to me anyway." she meowed. Admitting she had done something wrong was not a usual thing for Dreamweaver, but for some reason, she felt it was necessary to accept the blame this time.

"You were just trying to protect and enforce our borders. You didn't do it, he scratched you. I just hope we find a medicine cat in time..." he mewed, looking at her swollen eye. "Before the rain comes we need to get you back to camp." he purred looking at the dark clouds in the distance. "What's it like not seeing out of one eye??" he questioned, stopping and scuffling his paws, hoping he didn't hurt her feelings.
