Snowflake stood erect, guarding the small entrance of the junkyard. A dark mound stood out, casting a shadow in the fading light. Her green eyes danced around the edges of darkness, watching for the slightest movement. Inky black ears were pricked up, listening intently for a slight noise. One that would give away the enemy, such as a crinkling can or a rustling bag. The Moonlitpool Junkyard's territory was limited, and they were intent on getting more. Overhead, a full moon shed luminescent light on the bare streets, accompanied by twoleg lamp, giving off their yellow glow. Her strong muscles were tensed, and she was ready to spring from her powerful haunches onto an unsuspecting victim. A small piece of twoleg trash blew right by her black paws, averting her attention for a crucial second.

Moonlight shed through the broken glass of the old truck that Badriya was sleeping deeply in. The gentle white ray shone onto her eyelids, causing them to blink drearily open. Weariness tugged at her muscles for a brief moment, but the she-cat got up and stretched her slender forelimbs in front of her shaking her bright fur with a slight yawn. Ever so carefully she slipped through the broken glass of the rusted Twoleg monster, placing one dainty paw in front of the other until she reached the highest mound of junk in the Junkyard.
She gazed overtop of the pile of rubbish, the sleek black Twoleg pavement turned into an eerie silvery color and the old street lamps flickered madly. Badriya slowly slid down the mound of rubbish and padded up quietly behind Snowflake, who was keeping guard of their territory. "DO you want to take a break?" she asked the alert she-cat.

Snowflake jumped, startled at the sudden appearance of Badriya. Her sharpened claws unsheathed as she whipped aorund, seeking the source of the noise. Then, seeing the she-cat, she slightly relaxed, but still alert to her surroundings. "Oh.. It's you. Sorry for almost ripping your fur off.." She hurridly apologized. "Umm.. Sure, that would be helpful," the dark she-cat yawned. Paddling back to the twoleg monster, she meowed over her shoulder,"Have you seen anycat recently? I'm starting to worry about everyone else."

Badriya sighed. "I haven't...I'm starting to worry as well. We need to recruit if we're to survive...or we can wait for the others to return." she meowed, sitting where Snowflake was, her senses now becoming acute to her surroundings. "Maybe we should look for them." she meowed, not making eye contact with the black she-cat.

"Look for them..." Snowflake echoed Badriya's words. "If they don't come back soon... We might have to." She turned around on the spot, facing the other she cat. She looked in into her eyes, as she solemnly explained,"But that would mean giving up our territory."

Badriya felt a sickening feeling creep inside her stomach. "If we find them we can always come back and see if our turf is still open. If not we might have to fight or surrender and find a new home. But we can't just live alone you and me, we'll be driven out eventually, there aren't enough of us to fight." she purred, her eyes flooded with grief.

"That is true," Snowflake purred as she rubbed against Badriya, trying to reassure her. It was hard, though. Considering she was just as terrified. "We've been waiting for moons. I think it's time we go looking for them."

Badriya looked at Snowflake. She gave a deep sigh and stared off into the distance. "Alright....let's go." she meowed, picking herself up and padding out of the junkyard with Snowflake at her side. She looked back as they walked and felt an icy tear fall down furry face.

Okay," Snowflake mewed as she turned around. Taking one last look at the pace she had called home for so long. It may have reeked of twoleg trash for as long as they could remember... But it was the place they had been born and raised. She took a small, shaky breath, fighting back the tears that would surely come. Her eyes became misty as she struggled under the pressure. She had to stay strong, if they both wanted to pull through this. "Do you have any idea where they went?"

"Nope, we could ask some of the local cats or try to find their scents..." Badriya suggested.

"Their scents are probably long gone, washed away by the recent rains. I say we should ask around, and try to find a lead. The couldn't have just disappeared, right? They must have gone somewhere... The question is, why did they leave us?" Deeply in thought, her tail flickered back and forth.

Badriya gazed at the moon, silver grey wisps of cloud hovering over it. "I agree, but I-I heard some of the cats talking about a food and alleycats." she meowed, blankly, not knowing what they were going to try to accomplish.

"Food and Alleycats? Whay haven't I heard about this?" Snowflake sighed."I guess it didn't seem important to you..." Looking around , she wondered what they would end up doing. Her paws frlt strangely smooth as she walked across the twoleg pavement. "That woud be a start, I guess."

"Maybe they're trying to steal from they alleycats!" she screeched. "But they're quite a while away..." she sighed. "We have to go, now!" she mewed.

"Okay.. Coming." Snowflake mewed as she took one last look at the junkyard. "I've never visited the alley cats before... Do you think you could lead the way?"
