Tango nodded again. "Your right. They both are a right bit nasty. Where in the world do you find horses like that?" she whinnyed curiously.

Winter's big eyes narrowed placing her head on her forearms. Her ears flicked. "I can name a few places..." she echoed somberly.

Tango's ears flicked curiously. "Really?" she whinnyed. "Never in all my life could I imagine why you'd want to be do mean. What is it that drives horses like that?"

"Pride, the past. Who knows, but they always seem to find a reason." she said, laying her head back down in the cool grasses.

Tango nodded. "I suppose so. Even so, it still seems like a stupid reason to me. You can't change the past and pride is just another downfall." The mare tossed her mane again to remove the hairs that had skewed her sight and closed her eyes, waiting for the sun to warm her up.

Woody plodded back to the group, his hooves thundering at the ground. He raised his head to the sky and took in a deep breath of the gentle, meadow air. Just beyond here was a stretch of mountain and a long river that split the canyon into two. The scene was marvelous, but he knew all too well that just beyond the borders, danger lurked.

Sheriff stopped nibbling on the grasses and he looked up at Woody. He's so cool! I hope I can be like that one day. Looking around, he noticed Apollo wasn't paying any attention to him. Everyone's so calm and relaxed. And now I really wanna jump something. He scanned the meadow again and noticed the pine forest near the western edge of the pond. There's bound to be some fallen trees there! Without another thought, the colt took off.

Winter rolled over taking in a deep breath. "You know...I wish I could be like my brother..." she said to Tango, looking over at Woody who was gazing off balnkly.

"How so?" Tango replied, following her gaze. Woody was a proud and strong-willed individual. Not to mention kind. But what did Winter mean?

"He's so...brave and respected....and known. Ever since we were kids he's been a noble horse but i-i don't know..." she said trailing off.

Tango tossed her head, her mane slapping against her thick neck. "He is highly respected, I agree. And with every knowing him, it's good and bad. I hope he stays with us for a long time," she whinnyed, looking around the meadow. Everything was so calm and peaceful. But for how long?

(Wow I haven't posted here in forevah) Apollo gazed around the golden meadow with his dark eyes, pausing on every horse in the herd. He was still knee-deep in the refreshing lake, the cold water staining his pelt a few tones darker. Shaking his mane slightly, the colt walked his way out of the water and mud, looking for Sheriff. Woody was over to his left somewhere, and Tango and Winter were resting peacefully in the grass. Yet all of this happy stuff seemed so...Boring. Now he felt like he had to run, like he had to do something.

Sheriff glanced back over his shoulder to see Apollo looking around, bored. He just smiled and continued his run to the forest. I hope there are some good jumps in here. You can't jump anything in a flat meadow.
