Aztec poked her head out of her den and watched as Amri disappeared into the forest, again. She growled softly and padded quickly after him. She caught him not far from camp and put her hand on his shoulder. "Amri, come back to camp. Please? No more running off. And I want to look at that wound as well." Her eyes showed sympathy and an honest wanting to help and her touch was gentle and sincere.

"NO! I'm sick of beings here, of being abused Aztec...I want to live my life normally, as a human! I'm tired of trying to help people and only getting beat up for it! I can't take it," he snapped, slamming his fist against a tree, beginning to cry. "I'm tired of scaring people...I want to walk normally among humans again..."

"That's the way all of us feel, even Zara," Aztec soothed. "I can always see it in Aubry's eyes and I know that's the way I feel. Zara keeps thinks the same thing as well, she just shows it in a different way. She gets and angry and destroys the things that don't understand and accept her. That's just the way she is." She placed her hand on his shoulder again and stood next to him. "Amri, please. Come back to camp. I'll fix that wound on your jaw and give you something that'll help you sleep. Just please don't run off again. If you make Zara even more angry, she might kill you and I don't want that to happen."

"It's better to die than this torture...." he growled, covering the mark on his face with a paw. "I'm sorry Aztec...but I can't keep taking this abuse from her. I tried to get the thing to change us back, and she does this...I can't help her. I'll come back, but don't expect me to stay..." he said, pain clouding his eyes.

Aztec sighed. "Maybe I can't convinced you," she whispered bitterly. He hand slipped from its position on Amri's shoulder back down to her side. It hung loosely for a while, as if it had given up. She hung her head as well, in defeat. She did not waste her breath on more words, but simply turned around and padded slowly back to camp. What will we do with Amri gone? I'm not sure the pack can survive without him. He's the best warrior...

Amri padded back to the camp, his eyes straight forwards, uttering no words as they moved onward. He winced as a sharp blow of wind hit his face, covering the wound with his massive paw as they entered the camp.

When Aztec and Amri had entered camp, Zara was in her den and Aubry was sitting on one of the logs by teh dying fire. Aztec sighed and padded into her den. She threw a deer-skin blanket over the cot for Amri to sit down on and padded into the bacl of her den for some herbs. I hope Amri stays...

Amri crossed the den, his eyes covered with deep contemplation as he sat himself upon the makeshift cot, his eyes staring endlessly into the dark den.

Aztec set her staff up against a wall as she brought to the front of the den Marigold and Thyme. As she began preparing the herbs on a shelf, she eyed Amri sitting on the medical cot. Come on, Amri. Stay. Zara's not so bad. You just have to get used to her, that's all. We need you.

Amri looked at Aztec who was staring at him. He tilted his head with a confused look on his face. "What?" he asked, his mind trying to search for answers.

"Nothing," Aztec replied, her voice low and soft. "I just really want you to stay. We need you... " she tralied off. She turned back around and finished preparing the herbs. When everything was ready, she returned to Amri and started applying the marigold to his wound. "This will help heal it," she murmured softly. After she finished, she picked the thyme from the shelf and gave it to him. "Eat this. It'll calm you down so you can sleep more easily." Turning away she padded to her own bed next to the medical cot and sat down on the edge.

Amri narrowed his eyes cautiously, he sniffed the herbs and placed them in his muzzle, the bitter taste seeping into his tastebuds. He shuddered and slipped out of the den laying on the ground with his head on his paws, closing his eyes and letting the wave of sleep carry him away from his problems.

Aztec watched him go and sighed. "I hope he's still here in the morning," she whispered to herself. Laying down, she placed her hands behind her head and stared at the ceiling of her den for a few moments, just thinking about what had happened that day. She sighed again and closed her eyes, waiting for sleep to come.

Abury walked into the den, very late at night, and layed down. Human............thats all I ask. She was still, her mind was gone it was in it's own world, in happy world, a world where she was human.

Amri's eyes snapped open. I've got to get out of here.... he thought, his muscles tightening. Silently he rose from the ground, his eyes flicking nervously. His pawsteps were inaudible as he moved across the camp until he reached its edge. He looked back, his eyes narrowed, but he placed a paw over his scars to remind him of why he was leaving. He silently bounded through the forest, his eyes locked straight ahead of him. He ran as far as Delamine Castle and the waterfall he had found. I can't go back....
