Jackalkit, hearing about the warmth of the sun, lashed his tail. "Momma'? Can I go outside and play?" he mewed, his round eyes staring up at Forestfur.

Forestfur playfully flicked Jackalkit's ear. "Only if you don't wake the whole clan up," she purred, standing up. "Come on," she called over her shoulder, heading for the den enterance.

Jackalkit's stubby paws waddled after her, his clumsiness being his downfall. He landed face first, bringing in a mouth-full of dirt and spitting it out irritably. A butterfly fluttered past and Jackalkit felt a spur of playfulness clutch at his heart. He chased it eagerly, batting and clawing at its bright colored wings.

Snowsong yawned lazily in the sun. Her mind wandered, as she felt more carefree and happy then the queen had felt in a long time. It's so nice to live in Sunclan... She thought, gazing up at the now bright blue sky. I couldn't imagine living in Duskclan...Or Sunsetclan... Too gloomy and dark for my tastes...I wonder how they manage to live, without any sunlight except for the weak beams that filter through the trees..

Jackalkit padded up to Snowsong. "Snowsong...do you think Tigerstar with make us apprentices soon? " he asked, his eyes concerned. "Maybe she forgot about us"

Forestfur smiled as she padded up behind her kit. "Now now, Tigerstar is a busy cat. She may not have time at the momnet, but I'm sure she hasn't forgotten about you," she warriors purred. "Besides, that leaves you time to practice."

Snowsong tilted her head slightly to the side. "Where is Tigerstar, anyways? I haven't seen her all morning....Hmmm.." She purred softly, looking down at Jackalkit's disappointed face. "Don't worry about it, Jackalkit. When the time's right, you'll be made an apprentice, I'm sure of it. It's just a matter of time."

"But, I want to prove to her that I'm worth the time. That I'm worth being here in the Clan. How can I do that when all I do is puts around in that nursery." he pouted, his eyes flickering with anger.

Forestfur rolled her eyes and flipped Jackalkit over with her paw once again. "Now if you don't stop whining, I'll tell Tigerstar to not make you an apprentice," the she-cat purred, amusement clearly glowing in her eyes. She bent down and nuzzled Jackalkit's tiny forehead before letting him up again.

"She's probably forgotten anyway." he spat bitterly, wriggling out of his mother's grasp and sitting down with his shoulders slumped and his tail curled around his paws, a furious glow in his eyes.

"Don't get all upset, Jackalkit," Forestfur purred. "How about I give you a few practice tasks, just so you can get an idea of what apprentices really do?" Forestfur's smile never disappeared as she watched her kit. I hope he doesn't end up doing something he'll regret. He's getting kind of impatient...

Jackalkit's ear flicked and he turned to face his mother, his eyes confused. "Seriously?" he asked a flicker of hope making his small body quiver.

Okay she said looking up at Iriswater ".......Do you think Jackalkit is mad at me?" She asked feeling sorry for getting him in trouble.

A bright beam of light swept across the open den of the warriors, warming them to the core as the sun gently peaked over the horizon, ready to chase away all of the shadows lingering on the hilly terrain of SunClan. It was amazing, the way the world grew brighter and brighter, the warriors of StarClan slowly retreating deeper into the sky and out of sight from any cat gazing up. All the different shades of red, orange, and yellow had been cast across the land, as if sending a message. Morning.
Morning? That was the dark, dusky gray warrior's very first worried thought as another foot plowed into his side. "Wake up, you badger." It called, piercing into Ashbreeze's consciousness. Soft murmurs lurked in the atmosphere, too gentle to distinctly make out. If the tom could have heard them, they would probably have sounded something like, "Why is he always the last one up?" or "Is he going to sleep all day?", and sometimes, "Should I wake him up, or let him sleep for the next moon?" Another voice pried into his dreams, which were growing dimmer and more distant as the moments passed by. "Hey! Wake up!" Finally, after the prodding paw, the warrior blinked open his eyes slowly, letting the sunlight filter in and pupils adjust to the sudden increase. "What?" He grumbled impatiently as he rose from his small nest in the midst of the 'den.' "Oh," He sighed softly as he looked around. No attack on the camp. No screaming kits. It was morning, his least favorite time of day. Yay. Ashbreeze looked down at his matted and mangled fur disgustedly. Why, no, how did it get so messed up in one day? It just didn't make any sense how it could get so dirty after one sunrise, especially since he tried to groom every day. Oh, yeah. Grooming. He shot another look at his pelt before beginning to groom it softly with his rasping, rough pink tongue. How long would this take?

Iriswater smiled as she continued to gently lick Thistlekit's head. "He might be, but if he is, he'll get over it soon enough."
Forestfur couldn't help but laugh at Jackalkit's pleading face. "Of course," she purred. "How about you clean out the nursery and put some fresh moss in it? You've been playing all morning and I'm sure Iriswater would appreciate having sone clean moss to sleep on."
